Your Shot, the DJ competition aimed at beginners, is returning to the United States, according to Billboard.
Organizers will hold in-person selection events in Denver and Miami in August, followed by New York and Los Angeles in September. Registration is open now, and more than 8,300 aspiring participants have already signed up.
Those chosen for the program will take part in six weeks of training covering the basics of DJing, including mixing, music selection and live performance. AlphaTheta will provide mixers and controllers for the lessons, while Sony is supplying speakers and headphones.
The 2026 competition will finish with showcase weekends in Denver, Miami, Los Angeles and New York, where contestants will perform for live crowds. Winners will receive an opening DJ slot at a major music festival, with this year’s prizes including performances at F1 Las Vegas, Insomniac’s EDSea and additional events to be announced.
Your Shot launched in Australia 16 years ago and debuted in the U.S. last year, when more than 500 first-time DJs joined its training and mentorship program. Last year’s U.S. showcases drew more than 10,000 attendees across Los Angeles and New York, and the winners, Jelly Bean and Punky Butter, will play opening sets at the 2026 editions of Elements Music & Arts Festival and CRSSD.
