Dhani Harrison and producer Nigel Godrich have joined forces in a new project called Dragonflies, according to Pitchfork.
The duo’s self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on September 18 through Dark Horse Records and BMG. A music video for the opening track, “Slower,” was directed by Ruffmercy and uses hand-drawn, impressionistic animation.
In a statement, Harrison said Godrich has strong opinions about what he wants to hear, which he described as humbling. Godrich compared their creative process to one person tossing something into the air and the other catching it.
Harrison handled guitar and vocals on the album, while Godrich produced it. The record also includes percussion from Joey Waronker and string arrangements by David Campbell.
