Two more installments in a Neil Young covers series are set to arrive, according to Pitchfork. The new compilations include performances from MJ Lenderman, Kurt Vile, Lucinda Williams, Ben Gibbard, My Morning Jacket, Ann Wilson, and a Modest Mouse and Califone collaboration.
King Princess’s version of “Helpless” and Draco Rosa’s cover of “After the Gold Rush” are out today. Pitchfork says the series is continuing with Heart of Gold, Volume 2 and Heart of Gold, Volume 3.
Other artists featured on the projects include Devendra Banhart, Los Lobos, Peter Frampton and Edie Brickell, among others. The first volume in the series previously included Fiona Apple’s take on “Heart of Gold.”
According to Pitchfork, the compilations support California’s Bridge School, which serves children with extensive speech and physical disabilities. The school has long been a beneficiary of Neil Young’s advocacy.
