The White House is drawing criticism after posting a TikTok video that used a Bad Bunny song in footage tied to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to NME.
The video, shared Thursday, included the track “La Mudanza” from Bad Bunny’s song “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.” It showed spliced clips of ICE detaining undocumented men and women, alongside text that read, “A round of applause for Donald J. Trump because he really crushed it,” with the caption, “We’re making America great again.”
Many fans objected to the use of the song because Bad Bunny has been a vocal critic of ICE and the Trump administration’s immigration policies. NME noted that the Puerto Rican artist has previously faced criticism from the MAGA movement, and Trump has also taken aim at him.
The incident comes after several other artists pushed back against the White House or Trump administration for using their music in videos tied to immigration enforcement or other political messaging, including Ariana Grande, Kesha, Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo.
