Shania Twain and Frédéric Thiébaud reflect on their 15-year marriage

Shania Twain is opening up about the marriage she built with Frédéric Thiébaud, saying their relationship has deepened over the years. In a recent interview with People, the singer said, “This is the love I’m going to grow old with,” and called it a beautiful feeling.

According to E! News, Twain and Thiébaud’s path to marriage began years earlier in Switzerland, where their former spouses knew each other through work. Twain was married to music producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, while Thiébaud was married to Marie-Anne Thiébaud, who had worked for Lange as a secretary and interpreter.

The story changed in 2008, when Twain learned that Lange had allegedly been having an affair with Marie-Anne Thiébaud. In her memoir, Twain wrote that Frédéric Thiébaud later told her about the alleged affair. Lange denied the accusation at the time, and Marie-Anne Thiébaud also pushed back on the reporting.

Twain and Thiébaud eventually grew close while supporting each other through the fallout. They shared their first kiss in December 2009, finalized their divorces, and married on New Year’s Day in 2011. Twain later said the relationship was “twisted,” but also “so beautifully twisted,” according to E! News.
