Elastica have teased a return after more than two decades away, posting a vintage photo on their official Instagram account and suggesting that new activity is in the works, according to NME.
In the message, the Britpop band asked, “Missed us?” and said they have been “busy behind the scenes,” adding that fans should “keep your eyes peeled” for exciting things to come.
The group did not say whether the plans involve new music, live shows or archive releases. Their last major release was the remastered version of their self-titled debut album, which came out for Record Store Day in 2017.
Elastica formed in 1992 after Justine Frischmann and Justin Welch left Suede, with Donna Matthews and Annie Holland in the original lineup. Their debut album became a defining Britpop release, topping the UK Albums Chart, before the band split in 2001 following the release of their second album, The Menace.
