The next entry in the V/H/S horror anthology series is set to arrive on October 9, according to NME and Variety. The film, titled V/H/S/MIXTAPE, will debut on Shudder.
Several music figures are attached to the project. Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA will direct one of the sequences, while Flying Lotus and Ghost frontman Tobias Forge will provide music video interludes. Heavy metal group GWAR will also appear in the film.
The V/H/S franchise began in 2012 and has so far produced eight films made up of separate found-footage horror segments presented as real events. Past contributors have included directors such as Johannes Roberts, Gareth Evans and Scott Derrickson.
According to the film’s press release, V/H/S/MIXTAPE will focus on the terror that can come from music and sound. The release says the anthology will mix cosmic horror, psychological suspense, splatter and practical effects into a new collection of nightmare-themed stories.
