Sombr surprised the crowd at Lollapalooza on Thursday by bringing out 5 Seconds of Summer during his set, according to NME.
Before introducing the band, the U.S. pop artist told the audience that a “special surprise” was coming, then called 5 Seconds of Summer “the greatest band in the fucking world.”
Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin joined Sombr to back him on “Back to Friends,” before he sang his own version of 5 Seconds of Summer’s breakout song, “She Looks So Perfect.”
Sombr’s set also included recent releases such as “My Body Isn’t Ready,” along with earlier singles “Homewrecker” and “Potential.” After Lollapalooza, he is set to launch a North American headline tour and also has upcoming festival appearances at Reading & Leeds, Sziget, Rock En Seine and Electric Picnic.
His debut album, “I Barely Know Her,” came out last summer. NME previously gave the record four stars, calling it “smart, emotional and surprisingly upbeat.”
