Maricopa City Councilmember Vincent Manfredi says voters in Legislative District 16 should return T.J. Shope to the Arizona State Senate and Teresa Martinez and Chris Lopez to the Arizona House of Representatives.
In a letter to the editor published by InMaricopa, Manfredi wrote that elections should be judged on records, relationships and results, not just campaign slogans. He said he has worked with all three lawmakers and has seen them show up for meetings and continue working after the public spotlight fades.
Manfredi said Shope has been a steady advocate for rural Arizona and understands the needs of Pinal County, including roads, public safety, water policy and job growth. He also said Shope has used his Senate experience to help give the district a stronger voice at the Capitol.
He described Martinez as a strong voice for transportation needs and noted her role as vice chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Manfredi also said Lopez brought a small-business perspective to the Legislature and helped sponsor funding for State Route 347, which he called one of Maricopa’s most important priorities.
Manfredi said the SR 347 funding effort took cooperation from city, county, regional, tribal and state leaders, and that the three lawmakers were reliable partners throughout the process. He said they deserve another term because of their work, not just their words.
