South Korean singer Lim Kim has released her second full-length album, “Exit to Nowhere,” nearly 13 years after her debut album, “A Voice,” according to ABC News.
The seven-track album reflects what Kim has experienced since her early 20s, as she moves through a period she describes as shaped by uncertainty and self-discovery. She told The Associated Press that the project feels like “a chronicle” of her life.
Kim said the album marks a shift from the broader identity questions behind her 2019 EP “GENERASIAN” to a more personal focus. She said she spent a long time deciding what direction to take after that release.
The singer, who first broke out in 2011 as part of the folk-pop duo Togeworl before starting her solo career in 2013, said the album title reflects the sense of searching that defined the years it covers. One track, “Never Gonna Be Alone,” begins at a wedding and explores feeling isolated even while surrounded by people. Another song, “INSA,” features rapper Bree Runway and draws from the formal greetings Kim encountered in the music industry.
Kim said she hopes listeners going through uncertain times can see parts of their own experience in the album. She won two Korean Music Awards in 2020.
