Joy Behar made headlines on The View after sharing a kiss with actor Anson Mount during the July 22 episode, according to E! News. The moment happened as Mount came out to greet the co-hosts at the start of the broadcast.
Mount first stopped to say hello to Whoopi Goldberg before moving over to Behar. What began as a cheek kiss quickly turned into a full kiss on the lips, surprising the audience and the rest of the panel.
Sunny Hostin later handed Mount a tissue to help remove some of Behar’s lipstick and joked about how much Behar had been talking about him. Behar played along, telling the crowd, “I’m old, but I’m not dead.”
Mount also joked to TV Insider that he asked his wife not to divorce him over the on-air kiss, and said she thought the moment was funny. He added that he had not been on The View in about 13 years and remembered bringing Behar flowers for her birthday the last time he appeared.
