A Florida family woke up Tuesday after their security camera sent an alert about an unusual visitor outside their home: an 8-foot alligator at the front door, according to UPI Odd News.
Palm Bay resident Sierra Wynn shared video of the alligator that showed up early in the morning at her home off Malabar Road. She told WESH-TV that the animal sounded agitated and appeared threatening as it lingered near the house.
Wynn said the alligator’s tail was hitting the door and the side of the home, and that she feared it might come through the window. She said the family was scared and terrified as the animal reacted to a flashlight.
Palm Bay police responded along with a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission trapper, who safely removed the alligator from the scene. Wynn said the camera alert may have prevented a more dangerous situation.
