Firefighters in England used small tools and broke through concrete to rescue a hedgehog that was trapped in an underground drain, according to UPI Odd News.
The Ellesmere Fire Station said on social media that crews were called Friday to what was first reported as a small animal rescue. The situation turned out to involve a hedgehog stuck below ground.
Volunteers from Cuan Wildlife Rescue also responded to help at the scene.
After crews exposed the drain and freed the animal, the hedgehog was turned over to Cuan Wildlife Rescue for care.
