Fenix Flexin has now confirmed that AI was used in connection with his song “Rubberz,” according to Stereogum. The admission comes after weeks of speculation and online debate about how the track was made.
The discussion picked up after Medasin’s viral breakdown of the single and Treblo, the AI software linked to the song, said its vetting tools showed its program had been used. Stereogum reports that Fenix Flexin and producer Purps On The Beat had previously avoided giving a direct answer when asked about the accusations.
In a recent Instagram comment, Fenix wrote that he never said he did not use AI, but said it had nothing to do with the recording process. He also said he did not even know what the app was until the song was mixed and people began commenting on it.
Fenix added that he does not see anything wrong with using new technology as a tool and said artists should keep up with the times or risk being left behind, according to Stereogum.
