Producer Dahi previewed his upcoming project, Black Boy (Alternative), during a performance in Inglewood, California, over the weekend, according to Stereogum. The event took place at sister dreamer and featured several special guests.
Among the performers were Childish Gambino, Vince Staples, Ravyn Lenae, Channel Tres, French Anthony, and Jesse Boykins III. Vince Staples, Channel Tres, and French Anthony joined Dahi for the live debut of “Who Are You,” while Childish Gambino appeared on the new track “Running.”
Ravyn Lenae and Jesse Boykins III also performed “Drowning” during the set. Dahi mixed new songs from the project with some of the biggest records he has helped make, including Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees” and “Count Me Out,” as well as Travis Scott’s “90210.”
In addition to the live show, Dahi released a new single from the project called “Square Up,” which features Fousheé. The song was described as a slow-burning electro-rock track with a distorted vocal edge.
