Campaigners call for Thirty Seconds To Mars UK tour to be cancelled over Leto claims

Women’s safety campaigners are calling for Jared Leto’s planned 2027 UK tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars to be cancelled following sexual misconduct allegations made against him, according to NME.

The push comes after the BBC aired Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, in which 10 women made allegations about encounters with the actor and musician between 2002 and 2016. Four of those women accused Leto of criminal sexual conduct when they were teenagers, including claims of sexual assault, statutory rape and grooming.

Leto has denied the allegations, saying: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

End Violence Against Women Coalition and Women’s Aid have both called for the tour to be cancelled. Women’s Aid told BBC Newsbeat it was troubling that the concerts were still planned, while the End Violence Against Women Coalition said organisers should put safety over profit and avoid platforming figures like this.

The tour is due to include major UK venues such as The O2 in London and Co-op Live in Manchester. The BBC report also noted that Leto has recently faced separate career fallout, including reports that he lost a film role following the documentary.
