Brittney Griner has filed for divorce from Cherelle Griner after seven years of marriage, according to E! News.
The filing was made July 30 in Georgia’s Fulton County Superior Court and says the couple has been living apart with no intimate relations since July 24. It also states that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and that there is “no hope of reconciliation.”
According to the court documents, Brittney is asking for joint physical custody of their 2-year-old son, Bash Raymond Griner, with parenting time set based on the child’s best interests. She is also requesting child support under Georgia’s guidelines.
The filing further asks that the couple’s marital assets and debts be divided equally, and that Brittney be awarded her separate property, including inherited and pre-marital assets. E! News reported that neither Brittney nor Cherelle has publicly addressed the divorce.
