Barry Can’t Swim has released a new single called “Dance Dance Dance,” bringing a French touch-inspired sound to the track, according to NME.
The Edinburgh-born producer and DJ, whose real name is Joshua Mainnie, released the song on July 24. It follows his earlier 2025 single “Return To Bhibo,” which came out in May.
According to NME, the new track blends shimmering synths and upbeat electronic production with a keytar solo and French-language vocals. The outlet said it takes Mainnie into a more colourful and flamboyant direction than “Return To Bhibo.”
The single arrives during a busy period for Mainnie in the US, which included a surprise pop-up party in Brooklyn, a walk in KidSuper’s SS27 runway show in Miami, and a back-to-back DJ set at Club Space after carrying the official match ball onto the pitch before Scotland’s World Cup game against Brazil in Miami last month.
Earlier this year, Barry Can’t Swim also released a “Late Night Tales” compilation and shared “Chala (My Soul Is On A Loop)” as part of it. Last year, he put out his second studio album, “Loner,” following his Mercury Prize-nominated debut “When Will We Land?”
