The Sunshine Underground played their first live show in nearly 10 years on Wednesday night in Manchester, just days before their planned reunion in Leeds, according to NME.
The Leeds indie-dance band performed at Gorilla, marking their first full show since a 2016 appearance at the Brudenell Social Club. They opened the 17-song set with “Wake Up” and played all 11 tracks from their 2006 debut album, Raise The Alarm, in a different order from the original record.
In addition to the debut album material, the band included five songs from 2010’s Nobody’s Coming To Save You and “Start” from their 2014 self-titled album. They finished the main set with “Put You In Your Place” before returning for an encore of “The Messiah” and “Raise The Alarm.”
The group will now head to Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds for a reunion show celebrating the 20th anniversary of Raise The Alarm. The lineup also includes White Lies, Hard-Fi, The Futureheads, The Twang and The Whip.
