Tomorrowland has confirmed it will not use large-scale fireworks at its 2026 festival because of wildfire concerns, according to NME. The restrictions were put in place ahead of the first weekend earlier this month after local authorities in Belgium recommended them due to dry weather and elevated fire risk.
Belgium is still under a Code Orange wildfire warning, which is the second-highest alert level. With weekend two now underway, organisers said the same limits will remain in effect through Sunday night, July 26, when the festival ends.
According to the report, only the main stage will be allowed to use pyrotechnics, and those effects must be T1 and T2 versions, which are smaller and more precisely controlled. Tomorrowland also said it will not use the high-altitude fireworks seen at earlier editions.
Festival organisers added that daily safety assessments will determine whether fireworks can be used at all. Other precautions include a ban on personal barbecues and cooking equipment at the campsite, with communal cooking areas provided instead.
Weekend two of Tomorrowland includes performances from Calvin Harris, ALOK, Mall Grab and Indira Paganotto.
