Ariana Grande has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles court against anonymous hackers she says stole unreleased music, photos and video footage, according to Rolling Stone.
The complaint says the materials were part of her personal and professional creative process and were never meant for public release. Grande alleges the hackers targeted her photographers and producers, then sold the stolen content on the dark web for large sums of money.
Her legal team says the leaks have violated her privacy and disrupted her career. The lawsuit includes claims of invasion of privacy, violations of California computer hacking laws and conversion.
Grande’s attorneys said they plan to seek court approval to identify the people behind the alleged attacks through subpoenas to internet service providers and online platforms. The filing says she has dealt with hundreds of leaks since 2011, including stolen masters, demos, footage and unreleased photos.
In a February 2024 interview cited in the story, Grande addressed one leaked song and said she would see the responsible people “in jail.”
