More information is coming out about the death of Victoria Zardoya, the childhood best friend of Milania Giudice. According to E! News, the 20-year-old died after a fall while visiting the Tampa area with friends on July 24.
Friend Victoria Silberbusch said in a statement shared at the request of Zardoya’s family that the group was exploring the ruins of Fort Dade on Egmont Key when the accident happened. Silberbusch wrote that what started as a day on the water with friends ended in tragedy.
In her account, Silberbusch said Zardoya fell onto a set of stairs as the group was getting ready to leave. She said friends quickly realized the fall was more serious than they first thought and called 911 while others used flares from a nearby boat to help responders find them.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Marine Unit deputies arrived at Egmont Key on July 24 after reports that someone had fallen from one of the structures. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died two days later, on July 26, Silberbusch said.
