Animal control officers in Mississippi’s Pearl River County are trying to track down the owner of an emu that has been seen roaming free, according to UPI Odd News.
A witness recorded video of the flightless Australian bird wandering this week near Pea Ridge Road.
Pearl River County Animal Control said Wednesday that the emu was still loose and that officials do not know where it came from.
Authorities are asking anyone who may know the bird’s owner or current location to contact local officials.
