aespa is extending a busy weekend with the release of the official music video for “Switchblade,” its collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, according to Billboard.
The video arrived shortly after the K-pop quartet made its Lollapalooza debut on Sunday, Aug. 2, in Chicago. Fans at Grant Park also got an early look at the collaboration when Ty Dolla $ign joined KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER and NINGNING midway through the set for the song’s first live performance.
Billboard says the new visual leans into the track’s energetic pop sound with bright styling, fast choreography and a playful group dynamic. It also puts a lighter spin on aespa’s sci-fi concept by turning its kwangya lore into a chaotic high-school setting.
The Lollapalooza performance marked another milestone for aespa, which played a 14-song set with a live band, DJ and dancers. The group performed a mix of older hits and newer songs from its second studio album, LEMONADE, which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200.
