Zendaya brought an ancient touch to her Odyssey press tour look in London, wearing gold medallion earrings that date back about 3,000 years, according to E! News.
At a July 5 photocall, she paired the earrings with a white Jacquemus gown and a matching white headscarf. The look was created with help from longtime stylist Law Roach.
According to the London-based jeweler Barron London, the 18-karat yellow gold and diamond earrings were designed by Glenn Spiro and date to the first millennium BC. The piece is owned by Barron London.
Archeologist Annelise Baer said in a July 10 Instagram video that the artifacts originally came from Iran and likely were not earrings in their original form. She said they were probably worn as something decorative, similar to other sunburst designs from that era.
The ancient jewelry is just one of several Greek goddess-inspired looks Zendaya has worn while promoting the film, in which she stars as Athena in Christopher Nolan’s epic.
