William Shatner says his heavy metal band is set to play Coachella next spring, according to Stereogum. In a new interview, Shatner referred to the festival as “the one in the desert” and said he will perform a 30-minute set.
The project is scheduled to debut first at Riot Fest in Chicago on Sunday, Sept. 20. After that, Shatner said the live performances will continue to grow from there.
Shatner has not released any music from the metal project yet, but he talked about his enthusiasm for rock music in the interview. He said that with the genre, he focuses on feeling the music and then coming in with the lyrics.
“It’s all about passion!” Shatner said, describing his approach to the performances.
