An archival John Prine album called Found Dogs is set to arrive on streaming services October 9 through Oh Boy, according to Pitchfork. The project was first issued in a limited run for Record Store Day 2026.
Today, one of the album’s unreleased songs, “World Without Love,” was shared publicly. A lyric video for the track uses Super 8 footage of Prine on a family vacation in the early 1970s.
Found Dogs was released to mark the 30th anniversary of Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings. Along with the five previously unheard songs, the album includes alternate versions of several Prine recordings and a cover of Johnny Horton’s “All for the Love of a Girl.”
The release is part of a broader set of events and tributes tied to what would have been Prine’s 80th birthday, under the title Souvenirs: 80 Years of John Prine. Last month, Oh Boy also put out the 2010 concert recording Live at Old Town School of Folk.
