BTS says military service left members with “no one to talk to”

BTS members opened up about the emotional side of their military service in a new interview with Capital Breakfast, saying one of the hardest parts was being away from each other.

RM, Jimin, Jung Kook, SUGA, j-hope, Jin and V sat down with host Jordan North on Thursday, July 23. Jimin said returning to band activities after about two years apart felt like a family reunion.

V said he often felt bored because he did not have anyone who could really understand what he was going through, while SUGA added that he did not have many people to talk to. V also said that although there are peer counselors in the military, he is not good at opening up about his worries.

According to Billboard, BTS paused group activity in late 2022 when Jin became the first member to enlist, with the others following in staggered enlistments. The group reunited in 2025, began work on a new album called ARIRANG, and is now touring in support of the record.
