Marmozets have confirmed that bassist Sam Macintyre is no longer part of the band, saying the decision was made because their relationship had become unworkable.
The update was shared on Instagram by Becca, Josh and Jack, who said they were taking a break and had reached the decision after trying to make things work. They added that the move was in the best interests of everyone involved.
Sam Macintyre has been with the Yorkshire alt-rock band since they formed in 2007. He is also the brother of singer Becca Bottomley, formerly Becca Macintyre, and drummer Josh.
The announcement comes after Marmozets released their first album in eight years, CO.WAR.DICE, in May. They also played headline shows and festivals over the summer, including Download and 2000Trees, and recently opened for Biffy Clyro at London’s Finsbury Park, according to NME.
