Tyga has confirmed that he used artificial intelligence as a tool on his new album $tarface, and says he is not concerned if some listeners disapprove, according to NME.
The rapper released his ninth studio album on July 31. The project draws from 1980s synthpop as he introduces a new $tarface persona.
Fans had already wondered whether some of the electronic sounds on the record were created with AI. In an interview with Vibe, Tyga said he and his team used AI in parts of the process, comparing it to earlier debates around Auto-Tune.
Tyga said the technology was used for specific elements such as synth sounds or a guitar solo, but he clarified that the album’s production and all of the vocals were completed without AI.
