Green Day drummer Tré Cool has said the band would be open to headlining Glastonbury Festival if the invitation came, according to NME. He described it as the last major festival the group has yet to play.
Cool made the comments in a new interview with NME while discussing the band’s history at major festivals around the world. Green Day have previously topped bills at events including Coachella, Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, Download, Pinkpop and Rock am Ring.
The conversation came as Green Day promote Nimrods, a fictional coming-of-age comedy inspired by their early touring years. The film, written and directed by Lee Kirk, features the band appearing as themselves and serving as producers.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cool addressed the long-discussed American Idiot movie and the idea of a Green Day biopic. He said suggestions for a life story film come up from time to time, but the band does not want to dwell on the past while they are still active.
