Chris Evans is reflecting on what has surprised him most about becoming a father, nearly a year after he and wife Alba Baptista welcomed their daughter, Alma Grace, according to E! News.
In an interview published Aug. 18 with The Dodo, the Marvel star said the biggest adjustment has been how much he misses his baby girl when they are apart, even for short stretches. He said he often wants to check on her after putting her down for a nap and described the feeling as wanting to be near her all the time.
Evans also shared that the family’s dog, Dodger, has embraced his role as a protective older brother. He said the dog sleeps outside Alma’s room during naps and has shown a natural gentleness with young children and puppies.
The actor said Dodger’s sweet behavior does not surprise him, noting that the dog has been gentle for years, including with his sister’s kids. Evans and Baptista married in 2023, and they confirmed they were expecting their first child in 2025.
