The Tallest Man on Earth has announced a new album, Just Beyond Endless Mountain, following the release of his song “Colors” earlier this year, according to Pitchfork.
The album was inspired by traditional folk music from Sweden’s Dalarna region, where Kristian Matsson grew up. In press materials, Matsson said he had once pushed away that cultural heritage, but after returning to live there and researching both the music and everyday life from earlier times, he felt the new record came closer to representing who he is.
Just Beyond Endless Mountain is set for release on October 9 through Anti-. The album follows 2023’s Henry St.
Along with the album announcement, Matsson shared a new single titled “Deliver Me from Trying” and a video filmed in the Swedish countryside. He is also planning a cross-country North American tour in support of the record this fall.
