Ella Bright, who stars as Hannah Wells on Off Campus, was kept in the dark about a special addition to the show’s soundtrack until the right moment, according to Rolling Stone. On Off Campus: The Mixtape (Extra Credit), her cover of the Foundations’ “Baby Now That I Found You” was turned into a duet with Niall Horan.
The outlet shared a video of Bright hearing the news, with Horan telling her, “You don’t know this yet, but you’re about to listen to our version of ‘Baby Now That I Found You.’” Bright said the surprise reminded her of Horan’s early solo single “This Town,” calling it her favorite song and saying she was “obsessed” with the track.
Bright has also been closely connected to the show’s music choices. Prime Video previously released a character playlist for Hannah that included songs from artists like Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, the 1975 and One Direction, along with “Steal My Girl” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go.”
According to Rolling Stone, music is a major part of Hannah’s character, and Bright said the songs helped her understand Hannah’s voice. The duet is Horan’s latest release following his fourth album, Dinner Party, which he shared earlier this year.
