The Beatles announce Rubber Soul Super Deluxe reissue for October 2

The Beatles will release a Super Deluxe reissue of their 1965 album Rubber Soul on October 2, according to Pitchfork. The set is being produced by Giles Martin with engineer Sam Okell.

Like the band’s other deluxe reissues, the new edition will include a mix of archival material and fresh audio presentations. Pitchfork says the box set features never-before-released recording sessions, home demos, a new stereo mix, the original mono mix, and a previously unheard John Lennon song outline.

The release will also include an 88-page book with an introduction by Paul McCartney. A recording of an early version of “Michelle” has been made available to listen to ahead of the release.

According to Pitchfork, the new mixes were made using technology developed by Peter Jackson’s WingNut Films Productions Ltd. Jackson has previously worked on Beatles projects, including the 2021 documentary Get Back.
