Teyana Taylor thanked Jay-Z on Monday after performing with him during the final night of his Yankee Stadium residency, according to Rolling Stone.
Taylor helped open the “Extra Innings” show on Sunday by performing Mary J. Blige’s part on “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” a song from Jay-Z’s 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt.
In an Instagram post sharing photos from the night, Taylor said the onstage sound issues mattered less than the energy and appreciation from the crowd. She described the moment as seeing “this lil Harlem girl” stand beside “the GOAT” in Yankee Stadium in front of more than 40,000 people.
She also thanked Jay-Z for inviting her to be part of what she called an iconic night and said she will never take moments like that for granted.
