Bad Bunny’s band paid tribute to Avicii during the artist’s show in Sweden over the weekend, performing a cover of “Wake Me Up” in Stockholm, according to NME.
The tribute took place at Friends Arena on Saturday, July 11, as part of Bad Bunny’s current world tour in support of his album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” The tour has taken the Puerto Rican star across Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Guitarist José Eduardo Santana led the performance of Avicii’s 2013 hit on the cuatro, a traditional string instrument from Puerto Rico. The version gave the dance track a different sound as the band remembered the Swedish DJ, remixer and producer, who died in 2018.
Before heading to Sweden, Bad Bunny also made headlines in London when Damon Albarn joined him on stage for performances of Gorillaz songs “Clint Eastwood” and “Tormenta.”
