Police in Texas were called out recently to deal with an unusual loose pet: a lemur, according to UPI Odd News.
The Belton Police Officer's Association said on social media that officers responded to the report and described the animal as “fast, furry and refusing to cooperate.”
Police said the small primate was quickly detained and returned to its owner.
According to the report, Texas allows lemurs to be kept as exotic pets without special permits, though sellers must be licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
