Dance producer Tatyana Jane says private lessons with Skrillex helped unlock a new level in her music, according to Billboard. During sessions at his home in late 2024, she learned step-by-step track building, sound design, arrangement, and other production basics.
Jane said she returned to Paris feeling newly inspired and made about 50 tracks after the lessons. Some of that work appears on her latest EP, Discordia, which was released last month through Ed Banger Records.
The project follows a busy stretch for Jane, including opening for Justice in Paris in 2024, performing at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics, and a b2b set with Skrillex at Berghain in Berlin. She has also played major festivals this summer, including We Love Green in Paris and Kappa Futurfestival in Turin, Italy.
Jane grew up in Cameroon and has said West African rhythms shaped her ears early on, while French Touch artists later influenced her as a child. She began making music at 17, later worked as a data analyst in Paris, and eventually turned fully toward music after what she described as a burnout.
