Tate McRae has responded to accusations that she is MAGA, following attention around her collaboration with Morgan Wallen and reported relationship with Jack Hughes, according to NME.
In an interview with Variety, McRae said she prefers to show where she stands through the organizations she supports and the atmosphere she creates on tour. She added that she hopes fans can understand her by the causes and projects she chooses to support.
McRae has previously backed The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focused on LGBTQ+ suicide prevention, and a portion of her merchandise sales has gone to the Global Fund for Women.
Her recent album, So Close To What, was released in 2025 and includes the singles “Sports Car” and “Revolving Door.” McRae also earned her first Grammy nomination this year for Best Dance Pop Recording and headlined Lollapalooza alongside artists including Olivia Dean, Charli xcx, Lorde and The xx.
