Tasha Cobbs Leonard will release a new live album, Tasha Unscripted, on Sept. 11 through Motown Gospel and Capitol Christian Music Group, according to Billboard.
The project was recorded during a live worship concert in Atlanta earlier this year. The performance gave Cobbs Leonard room to rework songs with new arrangements and invite several guest artists to join her, including Mickey Guyton, Jonathan McReynolds, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, William Murphy and Israel Houghton.
To preview the album, Cobbs Leonard has released “Gracefully Broken/Who The Son Sets Free (Live),” featuring Houghton, along with an official video. The new release follows her 2025 album TASHA, which was her first studio album after years of live projects.
Cobbs Leonard said in a statement that after creating a quieter, more intimate album with TASHA, she felt called back to the live setting. She said TASHA Unscripted reflects a night where the songs were allowed to breathe and the audience could respond in real time.
Beyond the album, Cobbs Leonard will receive the Aretha Franklin icon award at the 41st Stellar Gospel Music Awards on Aug. 15. She is also set for six Stellar Award nominations, along with three nominations at the upcoming GMA Dove Awards, and she will launch the Unscripted Nights Tour this fall with stops including Charlotte, Atlanta and New York.
