Susanne Sundfør has announced her new album, Revelations Of Divine Love, and shared the ethereal first single, “I It Am,” according to NME.
The Norwegian singer-songwriter’s seventh studio album is set for release on October 2 through Bella Union. It follows her 2023 album blómi.
According to the press release cited by NME, the album reflects Sundfør’s renewed perspective on love, shaped by becoming a mother of two and moving to the countryside since her last record.
Sundfør said the project is inspired by the idea that love can be a universal answer, even for people who are not religious. The album was recorded in a Norwegian church with just a pipe organ and voice, and its lyrics are based on Grace Warrack’s 1901 translation of Revelations of Divine Love by 14th century mystic Julian of Norwich.
