Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean say new music is on the way, with both artists indicating that fans should “absolutely” expect it in the future, according to NME.
The comments came as the former Fugees bandmates reunited for Hill’s Diaspora Calling! festival, held on 7 August at Milton Keynes National Bowl. Hill and Jean were both set to perform at the event, alongside Erykah Badu, Giggs, and Hill’s sons YG Marley and Zion Marley.
Speaking to the BBC, Jean repeated the question about whether new music was coming and Hill replied, “Absolutely.” Jean added that they are “in God’s hands” and said it feels good to be back with his bandmate.
Hill said the pair went through an “incredible healing process” as bandmates and wanted to share that energy with the world. The Fugees, also featuring Pras Michel, last released an album in 1996 and have not put out a studio record since splitting in 1997.
