Babyshambles have announced a new live album, Live At KOKO, which will be released through Strap Originals on October 9, according to NME. The recording comes from the band’s final show at London’s KOKO on December 15, which closed out their first tour together in 11 years.
The release will be Babyshambles’ first full-length new music since 2013’s Sequel To The Prequel. A four-track live EP featuring the first songs from the set is also out today, August 7.
CD and digital editions of Live At KOKO will include four bonus tracks: La Belle et la Bête, What Katie Did featuring Carl Barât, Lost Art Of Murder and Wolfman. The album will be available digitally, on CD and on vinyl.
During the KOKO show, the band performed The Libertines’ What Katie Did with Barât and played Wolfman live for the first time in 20 years. Pete Doherty also told NME that the reunion became possible after he and guitarist Mick Whitnall had both been clean for several years.
Doherty said original guitarist Patrick Walden, who died in June, had been expected to be involved in the comeback and that his death was “a real trigger to get it done.” He also said there could be more new material in the future, including the idea of releasing a single and B-sides when the band plays bigger shows.
