A South Carolina woman picked up a lottery ticket for her father and ended up walking away with a much bigger prize, according to UPI Odd News.
The Midlands woman told South Carolina Education Lottery officials she stopped at the Quick Corner store on Bread Street in Sumter to buy the scratch-off her dad had requested. While she was there, she also decided to get a $10 Cash Money ticket for herself.
That extra ticket turned out to be the lucky one. After scratching it off, she discovered she had won $500,000.
According to the woman, her father did not win a prize on his own ticket, but he was happy for her. She said she plans to put the money into savings to help her family in the future.
