Sarah J. Maas has announced the titles of the next two books in her A Court of Thorns and Roses series, according to E! News. The sixth book will be called A Court of Splintered Harmony, while the seventh will be A Court of Forgotten Melody.
Maas shared the reveals on Instagram, pairing the sixth-book announcement with the line, “What was broken will be remade,” and the seventh with, “What was lost will be reclaimed.” The new titles add to the long-running fantasy romance series, which already includes A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight and A Court of Silver Flames.
According to the book descriptions quoted by E! News, A Court of Splintered Harmony will follow the dangerous return of Koschei the Deathless to the Fae territories. It is set to hit bookstores Oct. 27 and will center on the Night Court trying to protect innocents while Prythian continues recovering from the Hybern War.
The seventh book, A Court of Forgotten Melody, is scheduled for Jan. 12. Its description says Prythian may never be the same, with alliances falling apart and old enemies resurfacing as bonds are tested and power shifts.
Maas has previously said the two books are closely connected and make up “The Valkyrie Cycle: Movement I” and “The Valkyrie Cycle: Movements II and III.” She also said during an appearance on Call Her Daddy that the story had grown far larger than expected while she was writing it.
