A United Arab Emirates man has turned his soccer skills into a basketball world record, according to UPI Odd News.
Hamed Ali Al Shehhi, 24, backheel kicked a ball into a hoop from 39.37 feet away to claim the record for the farthest backheel kick of a basketball into a basket.
A video of the attempt shows Al Shehhi lifting the ball with his foot, tossing it up, and then striking it with his heel so it flew into the hoop from the distance.
Al Shehhi has already earned several other Guinness World Records titles for soccer skills, including knee bounces, knee keep-ups while seated, a fastest 50-meter record, and a previous record for the farthest backheel kick of a soccer ball into a basket. He told Guinness World Records that his love for football and desire to represent the United Arab Emirates motivated the achievement.
