Kate Beckinsale has deleted all of her Instagram posts after sharing a message about the criticism she says she has received over her appearance, according to E! News.
In an Aug. 8 Instagram Story, Beckinsale said she had taken a break from the platform following the death of her mother, only to return to comments about her weight loss. She said people had pointed out that weight loss can be an early physical sign of bereavement.
Beckinsale also shared a screenshot of a comment telling her she “must” eat. She responded by pointing to a post she had made about her mast cell activation syndrome diagnosis, saying she had just explained that eating could actually be dangerous for her.
The actress said her weight loss is connected to both her autoimmune condition and the grief she has experienced since her mother, Judy Loe, died in July 2025 after battling stage 4 cancer. She also noted that she has lost other close family members in recent years and urged people to be more considerate online.
Beckinsale said people never know what someone else is going through and encouraged others to treat people with kindness, adding that if they do not have anything nice to say, they may want to say nothing at all.
