Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is speaking candidly about the emotional and physical strain of her recent hysterectomy following a cervical cancer diagnosis, according to E! News.
In a July 31 TikTok video, the Jersey Shore alum said the reality of the operation hit her hard as she was being prepared for surgery. She recalled becoming overwhelmed and scared as she thought about the procedure and what would be removed.
Polizzi said the surgery removed her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and part of her vagina, while her ovaries were left in place so she would not enter pre-menopause. She also said her surgeon addressed another condition by putting her abdominal muscles back together after three pregnancies.
The 38-year-old, who shares three children with husband Jionni LaValle, said recovery has been painful but she is trying to stay positive. She added that she wants to keep being open with fans and urged women to get regular Pap smears.
