A Tennessee woman captured video of a snake that suddenly came out from under the hood of her car during a recent drive, according to UPI Odd News.
Analissa Hensley said she was riding with her family on Callis Road in Lebanon when the snake appeared on the hood. She told WKRN-TV that they were headed to Mount Juliet to pick up soccer gear for her youngest daughter when her husband noticed the snake.
Hensley estimated the snake was about 5 feet long and recorded it on video. The family tried to pull over so it could be removed from the car, but the snake jumped off before they came to a stop.
Mallory Tate, a biodiversity biologist with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, said the snake in the video appears to be a grey rat snake. She said the species is common in Tennessee and not venomous.
